OK gang, here is a brief discription of each program.

Winamp apps;

1.Gforce- Very cool visualization plug-in for winamp.

2.Matrix-winamp plugin A matrix like the movie.
Strange green characters scrolling down your screen.
Looks weird in the dark....

3.Geiss- The original music screensaver, ported to winamp as a plugin.

4.Winamp 2.5 -This earlier version of winamp does not attempt to contact aol.
All the newer versions do. I like to play mp3's But I like my privacy.
So I use this. Is also very small.

All these need windoze to work... :^(

Chat apps;

Aol instant messenger for linux/unix A very basic version of aim for the best o.s. Is not real fancy, but....it does the job.

Seti at home;

So, you wanna help hunt E.T. ? These apps will get you started
Download the .exe for windows.
This version runs as a screensaver. Looks pretty cool in the dark as well...:-)

If you wanna crank out the seti units and really help the cause,
download the text only linux version.
Put it on that old 486 along with any decent linux distro.
Start an instance on every console,
and let that sucker churn 'em out! For this purpose, caldera 2.2 will work nicely.
it is a nice easy to install distro.
I use redhat 6.2 myself, but it wants a 586 to run......

Splitit

A file splitting utility for windoze.
Nice for transfering that 5mb game on floppies for your friends. Freeware.

abandonware.

I will post it here in the future. I still play a lot of Civilization. It is one of those games, that once you understand  it, you won't quit til you beat it
